On Saturday 24th June, the sun was shining down on Beaufort Polo Club, Gloucestershire, where we held our 12th annual fundraising event, Party at the Polo!
Guests arrived for a drinks reception and enjoyed canapes and music, before gathering outside to watch the polo demonstration. Everyone gathered in the marquee where Mark Tomlinson, England Polo Team Player and former Captain spoke to guests about the history of the club and Polo before sitting down to the three course lunch.
In addition to the VIP ticket holders, families were dotted around the grounds, bringing along their own picnics to watch the polo matches taking place and a chance to soak up the party atmosphere.
Derek Bell, MBE and charity Patron interviewed Kristalea Schroff, a patient who has been treated on our Gloucestershire Mobile Chemotherapy Unit and she spoke about her time on board and the benefits of having her Chemotherapy closer to home.
Our latest Mobile Chemotherapy Unit was on site for guests to come on board and have a look around so they could see exactly what we provide for patients going through Chemotherapy.
The day was a great success and we were thrilled to announce on the day that this year’s polo raised over £24,000 – a fantastic result! We would like to say a big thank you to our sponsors FIAG who supported our event this year.
Huge thanks also to everybody who attended and supported us on the day. We are overwhelmed with the result of the day which will help us to keep the wheels turning on our Mobile Chemotherapy Unit Project, enabling us to bring cancer care closer to patients’ homes.
