Southern Co-operative Funeralcare

Southern Co-operative Funeralcare

The Gillingham branch of The Southern Co-operative Funeralcare has chosen to support Hope for Tomorrow, our Mobile Chemotherapy Unit (MCU) project, and the MCU service.

Maria Swann, Funeral Co-ordinator for The Southern Co-operative Funeralcare in Gillingham, told us: “We wanted to support the Mobile Chemotherapy Unit because it is a service provided specifically for rural communities, such as ours. As a result, it makes treatment days for patients so much easier and less stressful than having to go miles away for their nearest treatment centre. This, in turn, can only help patient recovery. We will continue to support the Unit on a regular basis and hope that the new DAB radio we recently donated helps to enhance the lovely, relaxed, caring and friendly atmosphere already present on board the Unit."

The Southern Co-operative is an independent regional business owned by its members. Established in Portsmouth (Hampshire) over 140 years ago, it now runs more than 250 community food stores and funeral homes across eleven counties in Southern England. The growing business also includes an online home shopping service, Co-operative Independent Living, plus a natural burial ground in West Sussex and The Oaks Crematorium in Havant, Hampshire.Visit the website

Active Staff Employment Agency

We are delighted that Lisa Armstrong, Director of Andover based Active Staff Employment Agency, based in in Winchester Street, along with her team, have chosen Hope for Tomorrow as their Charity of the Year.

The team at Active Staff were so inspired by the concept of Mobile Chemotherapy and it's benefits within the Community, that they decided to support our Mobile Chemotherapy Unit project, and raise awareness of the work that we do here at Hope for Tomorrow.

Lisa Armstrong, Director of Active Staff said, "Active Staff are absolutely delighted to be supporting Hope For Tomorrow. The team were first made aware of the Mobile Chemotherapy Unit (MCU) at an event back in September, which celebrated the Unit's 3rd Birthday, and we all soon realised what a valuable and inspirational service was being offered, right on our doorstep.

Like many companies, several of our team have had their lives affected through friends or family members suffering with cancer. As such, this is a cause that we feel extremely passionate about. Active Staff will be doing all we can to support Hope For Tomorrow and the MCU.”

We have many offices around the world but one that deals with the Energy sector based in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.

Sustainability is a core part of the business model and a part of that is our charitable giving program where we try to support local charities.

Hope for Tomorrow is probably the most local Charity to our Tetbury office but location is just a small part of why we support this very worthy cause. We all know someone who has been affected by cancer and has had to undergo chemo so it is a Charity very close to our hearts as well and we will continue to support them in the future."Visit the website
