Somerset Mobile Chemotherapy Unit

  • Somerset Mobile Chemotherapy Unit

Hope for Tomorrow’s second Mobile Chemotherapy Unit was launched in December 2010.  It currently gives treatment weekly in:

  • Minehead
  • Bridgewater

Plans are underway for the unit to also visit Glastonbury and Yeovil.

The unit is named ‘Bumble’ after Sir Stirling Moss’s mother-in-law who passed away after a battle with cancer.

The partnership between Hope for Tomorrow and the district hospitals in Taunton and Yeovil has enabled the development of this service which represents the first of its kind in Somerset.  By bringing safe chemotherapy treatment closer to patient’s homes this initiative will massively improve the experience of care. We estimate the service could help deliver over 1,000 chemotherapy treatments in its first year.”
