Art of Music

The November 2003 exhibition at The Mall Galleries was co-ordinated by Art to Give and showed a new collection of music paintings by acclaimed artist Juan Carlos Ferrigno to mark the launch of Hope for Tomorrow.

Other exhibitions have followed since then, the most recent being held near Tetbury in June 2009, when Juan Carlos Ferrigno was again present to talk to guests. Paintings exhibited included many music legends such as Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones and Chris Rea, giving art and music lovers a rare opportunity to view and buy original work by one of Spain’s leading artists, whilst at the same time helping to give others Hope for Tomorrow

Juan Carlos Ferrigno is one of Spain's leading contemporary artists whose work captures the speed and power of movement in a unique and enticing way. His passion for music and motor sport is a perfect marriage for this very important venture.

"Creating The Art of Music collection has been a dream come true. Frankly, I am deeply honoured to have the opportunity to express my feelings about the project.

It has not been easy finding the right words. They all seem to pale in comparison to the joy of painting such a collection and the excitement of continuing to be involved.

While there have been many highlights in my career, which has been mainly painting motor racing, this project has been tremendously rewarding. I have for many years wanted to combine my love of music with my passion for art. Thus, when Christine and David Mills told me about their idea to do a music collection for Art to Give, which would donate funds to the charity through art, I felt as if I had received a gift.

I am saddened that David is not here to share in their dream. However, I am privileged that it is The Art of Music collection that launched Hope for Tomorrow, the charity set up in his memory. It is my hope that the collection conveys the sort of passion I feel for the project and that it will be inspirational for years to come."
